How was UTEP robbed? The crew made an error, they reviewed it and corrected it. This is literally the entire reason why video reviews exist, to avoid human errors from deciding the outcome.

Looked to me like the right call was made. Wilms definitely had it out of his hand before the buzzer light went off, but the clock clearly didn't start when UTEP inbounded the ball so the clock should have gone off before Wilms got the shot off.

"The next buzzer beater came at the UTSA-Charlotte game, where well known ice-water-veined assassin Jon Davis ripped the hearts out of the 300 Roadrunner fans in attendance.'

Serious shade right there.

Robbed of the victory because of the error is what I mean. It's the right call. They thought they had won only to have it "taken away". Taken away for a good reason obviously.

Robbed is something that is taken away unjustly. This was not that.

Fair point. I'll change it to "robbed". Thank you pointing that out.

I feel since it was an officiating error the correct thing to do would be to put the time back on the clock and redo the play.

Gotcha, usually there's hip hop put in the background or something. Was not expecting that. Hell of a night for CUSA basketball. The tourney should be fun.

The UTSA defense was stupid.

I can never understand why in one possession games with 4 seconds or less why coaches don't have their defense pick up the offense at 3/4 or at least half court. Why let him just go straight down to the three point line unabated. That was pure coaching assery right there.

Probably an effort to avoid fouling him and sending him to the line for an easy two. But they should have known what Davis did to ODU. You don't give him free range to shoot.

Many thanks to you (and the Marshall fan who filmed it) for providing the video for Egor Koulechov's game winner. It is the first time I have seen Egor referred to as the Russian Reaper.

It took some effort to track this down. This is the cusa.TV live feed recording that I made a GIF of using Giphy. The advertisement that popped up on the screen nearly ruined it!

Since the officials on the floor are the timekeepers and they made the error, maybe each clock stoppage should have been reviewed to see how much time there was left. How many stoppages were there? Was the game actually over 3 seconds earlier and ODU wouldn't have those free throws? How about multiple errors adding up to an additional .7 seconds left and UTEP wins with Willms tip in? Why is only that last clock stoppage a problem when there were likely multiple stoppage issues, small though they may have been.

Because the game would take forever. They did review and add more time during several stoppages in the last minute which is normal. UTEP had thier chances to win and didn't.
