Hey guys,
I am new to the board. Been reading this for several years and really enjoy your comments. I grew up in the burg, learned at a young age to be a huge Dukes Fan, attended football games back in the mid 80's and basketball back in the late Campenelli years. Still follow the major sports, recruiting etc. Favorite memories are the Lefty years. Anyway looking forward to discussing Jmu sports moving forward. Have a great day!

So you knew what you were stepping into and still decided to join? Kudos to you! I was at JMU during early Lefty years, hard to top that but FB has helped make up for MBB lately.

Thanks for the warm welcome. You guys have helped me calm down at frustrating times over the last few years. I am a Broadway High graduate, please dont hold that against me. Moved away from the area in 2002.
A few opening thoughts from me from a earlier comment. I am for moving up to FBS and am very frustrated and have been to watch teams such a ODU and now Liberty pass us.
However I am a huge Mike Houston fan and think he did a great job last year. I was not sad to see Coach Withers go.

On the basketball front, I have seen hundreds of games in the convo, not over the last several years though. Still follow them closely, and this season is the worst product that I have ever seen JMU put on the floor. I hear Rowe is a great guy, however I have been scratching my head over that hire for about a year.
Anyway heres to a huge 4 wins this weekend!!!!

2002-07 seasons felt way worse than this one to me.

Patient optimism is not what I was taught at Ron Carrier's JMU nor since. I prefer self-determination. I don't care for the politics but I respect Liberty for stating a goal and relentlessly making it happen.

A lack of specific goals and wondering generalizations will get JMU exactly nowhere. JMU can't achieve a goal JMU does not have.

I'm guessing that was because we knew until a change was made, the Dukes would get no better. Whereas, this season we still have hope that Lou may get the program turned around, it isn't a closed door at this date, at least for me it isn't.
