RE: With Superconferences in Basketball, the AAC has no choice but to adjust
I'm very much in favor of getting VCU, Dayton, and Wichita. It makes us a clear 5+ bid conference. And I say that knowing that it will make it a heck of a lot harder for a non-traditional basketball school like UCF to earn an at-large bid. But I think it will help the conference's overall perception and those NCAA bids are worth $$$. The P5 thing is now permeating basketball despite the successes of the AAC, Big East, WCC, etc. Look at how Illinois State got screwed over; just a few years ago, the MVC would have been seen to be legit enough for that not to happen. It's going to happen to the AAC where we'll be down to 2 bids/year unless we really have a core of 7-9 legit teams where it's just undeniable that there is significant depth of competition.

Actually not. It means UCF has more chances to notch wins over RPI top 50 teams and RPI 51-100 teams, building a tournament resume. 22-10 with wins over SMU and Temple gets beat out by 20-14 with wins over SMU, Temple and Dayton.
