I just hope we can whip FIU'S ass Saturday and go into the tournament with a lot of confidence. If we can win game 2, I like our chances.

This team doesn't do well when they have lots of confidence.

Win Saturday and we will lock up the 6 seed. We will blast FAU or USM in round 1 and set up for the ODU rematch in the quarters. I like it.

You like the ODU matchup? Their pace and physicality down low worries me. They're playing good basketball right now. I'd rather catch La Tech in the quarters if we win on Wednesday.

I like matching up with ODU. They wont have career games again and we hopefully wont play that bad. never been afraid of them before. We just hit a perfect storm the last time. Our test will be round three if we advance. Nothing is a given.

I was very impressed with the bench coaching last night. From Ehsan on down, Asst Coaches were making contributions. Players were paying attention (for the most part) and making adjustments.

RE: Official BBQ the Owls Game Thread
FAU had the 4th worst shooting performance of an opponent all season, compared to the 9th best last time we played them, so I guess that's progress.

Conversely, last night was our second best shooting percentage of the season. Not surprisingly, whenever our FG% is above .491, our record is 12-1. When our team 3P% is .400+, we're 10-3.

Average opponent FG% in our wins is .378 versus .496 in our losses.

Obviously, if you have a good shooting night, and your opponent doesn't, it probably means you're going to win. However, since our offense can get stagnant, good defense/low opponent FG% has the added benefit of leading to better offense for us as we score more easily in transition before the defense is set. We saw that a lot last night, especially during the stretch where Cokley took over. He's particularly good at running the floor for a big, plus he finishes around the rim at a high percentage.
