When people assume all of Detroit has always been and still is ghetto 03-lmfao Carson was born in 51' so there was still segregation, whole different story than low income housing, and Detroit was rather nice for both blacks and whites until the race riots of 67'. Just because one is from Detroit does not mean he is from the ghetto and it does not mean one grew up poor. He lived in a big house and his dad worked on the factory line.
Wrong. His father left his mother and kids when he was 8. He he was raised by a single mom with multiple jobs who shopped at thrift stores to clothe the kids. They traded their labor for groceries at markets. Ben Carson had a hard upbringing.

Not once did I say all of Detroit is or ever was ghetto.

Got a link to that? I'm reading he moved to Boston for two years then moved back to a predominantly white neighborhood and then back to his original home where his mom was able to buy a Chrysler with cash.

Quote:Carson's improbable rise from an impoverished childhood in Detroit to become one of the top pediatric neurosurgeons in the nation has been a cornerstone of his appeal to voters of all political persuasions.

Really now?!? 03-drunk03-lmfao

is that the best you can do ...
unless there's something egregious in one's background ...
a cabinet nominee should be swiftly confirmed so we get on with the nation's business ...

TO THE VICTOR GO THE SPOILS

No...I could have added some stupid catch phrase in all caps at the end.

when you resort to name-calling ...
you concede the argument ...

AD HOMINEM (FALLACY OF IRRELEVANCE)

Pfft...report me then. I did not in any way call you a name. Move along.
