Men's MAC Tournament First Round Home Game
Despite the loss tonight, the Rockets still have a very good chance to have a home game in the first round of the MAC Tournament. Even if the Rockets lose at EMU on Friday, they will still have a home game unless both BG and NIU win. If either BG or NIU loses, UT has a home game regardless of the outcome of the Toledo-EMU game. BG plays at Buffalo and NIU plays at Ball State.

Given that we've just lost 2 of our final 3 home games, I'm not sure playing at home in the tournament means much at all. Nice, complete game against Central bookended by a total collapse against WMU and a less-than-focused effort tonight against Ball State. It might actually be better for them to go on the road, especially if they can pull it together for a victory in Ypsi Friday. Bad karma in Savage Arena lately.

In MAC play, they are 6-3 at home and 2-6 on the road (will be 3-6 at best if they win at EMU on Friday). I will take the home game despite losing 2 of their last 3 home games.

The losses were against the top 2 in the West. Should have beaten them but still...

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that WMU is one of the 2 best teams in the West this season, and that they swept us. Aside from Wilder, that wasn't a roster that really scared me coming into the season. Crazy.

Haymond is awfully good as well but, yeah, a surprise. I always felt Hawkins was under-rated and grossly under-appreciated, especially by WMU fans.

Good points. If I recall, Tucker Haymond almost single-ha deadly cost us a game his freshman year. We were guarding everyone else, and he made key bucket after key bucket.

That was the first thing I thought of-he and the guy that transferred killed us while we were sort of containing the big names.

In spite of the awful arena and bad weather town, he is still able to recruit to Kzoo.
