I also want to point out that in Europe during the Middle Ages academics believed the Earth was round. The Greeks knew almost the exact circumference of the Earth and it is impossible to have a shipping industry without understanding the Earth was round.

To be fair they are just lying about that claim.

I started a thread on this flat earth craze 6 months ago and some suggested I was trolling the board.

Nope, its real and its a growing belief.

Its more widespread now that 6 months ago.

There are some Christians who believe this. I haven't met them but I remember a story on them.

I believe it's extremely hardcore creationist.

Quick Google search it's 6000 to 10000 years old.

I don't see how a Christian can believe the earth is 2000 years old.

Jesus was 2000 years ago. King David was 3000 years ago. Abraham was 4000 years ago. Adam was 6000 years ago.

The bible says man is 6000 years old, but the earth itself is far older.

RE: Flat Earthers
I'm a triangle-earther. It's a small but growing movement that I just invented. Our belief tenants rest on the enlightened understanding that triangles are really, really strong, so the Earth must be a triangle due to its immense strength.

Also, as per the new age spiritualists, triangles/pyramids are excellent at channeling energy and life forces. Since the Earth is swarming w/ life, either they're crazy, or I'm right.

And finally, like a good triangle, our beliefs rest on a 3rd point, but I haven't invented it yet.

Dude I don't know. I don't follow that belief. I think the history of the world is a mixture of scientific theory and the Good Book.

I've been taught that humanity is 33,000+2017 years old, though like Eric said, the earth itself is much older and that's an easy explanation to give.
