And none of it is inaccurate..

We have mediocre fan suppport as it is - in a GOOD year for us. We've been pretty crappy this year, so what makes you think Ham residents will show up in droves to support a bad, underachieving team in a poorly promoted and advertised tournament? And if they don't like UAB, who's gonna show up to randomly watch the other teams in this conference??

Corporate tickets will help. They buy blocks and give them to employees. Sad part is we have not sold them like we did back in the 80s hosting the tourney. We should really push that in the future.

I agree that is has been poorly promoted. What ever happened to our new marketing guru we supposedly hired?

WTF with this guy. No the old way CUSA did it was not letting the 1 seed get the early game. The old way was letting the host team have the prime time slot until La Tech cried about it and it was changed last year. So really we've just gone back to the old way.

He's just another example of what has become of journalism for the most part...a person who doesn't take enough pride in his work to actually research the facts. He just spouts of whatever comes out of his rear end, regardless of whether it is actually factual or not. A click is a click, ya know. that's all that really matters these days.

For that matter, from MT's standpoint, it would be beneficial to end up in UAB's bracket. They would be playing evening sessions which means their fans can drive down to see them play in the evenings. A half day off work rather than the whole day

Of course 2 years ago when we made our run we drew pretty well after having a mediocre regular season. The expectations were low that year and I think people were surprised and excited about how well we were playing late. This season has been a complete disappointment for most.

it was also the first year we had hosted it in town and the outcry of support of football during that year helped as well. It was a perfect storm

Everyone couldn't wait to scream - FRW! FRW!

Updated blog to reflect fact that @CUSAMBK has traditionally allowed home team to pick time to play in tournament

BTW, it's not just extra money for conference. It also has to do with the way the game looks on TV. How many times have we seen a conference tourney with hardly anyone in the stands during a prime time telecast? Reinforces notion of inferior conference..
