Bill Nye is NOT a science guy.
He studied Economics. Seems to be a very passionate environmental activist. What I found out though....science is a business of his. It's just a business. He was so pompous beating down the creationist. So arrogant. He doesn't like it so much when he is proved to be a false prophet. He doesn't like it so much when he is questioned and Pressed! That's the beauty of Tucker. He Presses the Press.

Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy’ Says ‘Climate Deniers’ Suffer Psychological Delusions
Scams up Bill....
Quote:Bill Nye said Monday that climate change skeptics suffer from a psychological problem preventing them from understanding how so-called man-made global warming affects their daily lives.
Climate change skeptics suffer from cognitive dissonance on global warming, a type of psychological disorder that prevents people from recognizing reality, the comedian and former TV show host told Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during a Facebook Live event.
“To the deniers out there. I want you to think about what is called cognitive dissonance,” Nye said, referring to situations wherein people prefer to bury their head in the sand instead of facing reality. It’s up to environmentalists and everybody else to save skeptics from themselves, he added.
“Instead of accepting that the climate is changing, deniers are denying the evidence and dismissing the authorities” simply because they don’t want to face a harsh reality, Nye said.
The two climate change warriors went on to complain how fossil fuel companies’ unwillingness to change their ways could lead to catastrophe.
“I know it may not be very popular thing to say, but the long-term implications of doing nothing about climate change are catastrophic,” Nye said about what could happen if Americans don’t take seriously President Donald Trump’s skepticism.
Nye, who has a history of making dubious comments directed at skeptics, also brought up what he calls the connection between so-called denialism and the cigarette industry’s refusal to acknowledge the negative health properties of cigarettes.

In terms of "difficulty" I rank Engineers like this
Aerospace
Hydro / Petro
Mechanical
Electrical
Computer / Systems
Civil
Industrial
So a Mech E is up there.

Tuck asked the perfect question, what would the climate look like if people weren't here, but he missed on the follow up. When Nye said it would be like 1750, he should have asked why then wasn't 1750 like 1600, or 1600 wasn't like 1000, or 1000 wasn't like 1000 BC?

I'd agree with this assessment, but I think you left out chemical engineers.
I'd place them above mechanical and below petro in terms of difficulty.
Also, what do you mean by hydro engineer? As a Canadian, we refer to "hydro" as electric power. Otherwise, hydro would refer to hydrological engineering which would fall under the realm of civil.

I knew I missed someone... I'd put them just above, or equal with EE's. But it depends on your talents in Chemistry.
edit: Actually I'd almost call Petro a subset of Chem. So, Ill revise
Aerospace
Chemical / Petro
Mechanical
Electrical
Computer / Systems
Civil
Industrial

Yea, so many of these though are basically a subset of some other Engineering family.
I think the Big 6 (in no particular order)
Bio (Genetic), Chemical (Petro), Mechanical (Aerospace), Electrical (Computer), Civil (Hydro), Industrial
Tghese fall into two families of Engineering
Weapons Makers:
Bio, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical
Target Makers:
Civil, Industrial

I would tend to agree. The mathematics involved in Electrical was light years beyond what they did in mechanical, at least it was back when I was in electrical.

I think the reason I rank them there is because MechE's have to take courses in dynamics while EE's stop after statics. But I suppose some of the courses on transistor design make up for that difference.
I could go either way between the two. I'm an EE but the FIL is a Mechanical, so out of respect I give the nod to them.
But Aero guys, a subset of MechE's have some stupid hard fluid dynamics courses.

I never take this type of statement seriously. One cannot be destroyed in a debate if there is no debate in the first place. Tucker Carlson is not debating Bill Nye, he is the moderator. He has a staff that's has researched for him and can give him real-time information and direction. Nobody's debating anyone in this situation because it's not two people on equal ground. It's like saying the referee destroyed a basketball player in 1 on 1. /rant
What happened here was what happens in the majority of these conversations. The host wants to talk about one thing and will interrupt all he wants to steer the conversation his way. It's all a show. I'd like to see a real debate between the two of them. An hour with split allotments of time where they don't address each other, but come with their points.
