RE: Bill Nye is NOT a science guy.
I think the science is settled and human activity has accelerated change. I mean we've seen human activity damage ecosystems and whatnot. What I don't believe to be settled science is the notion that we know what this is going to mean for the future. There are scientists within the climate change community who are still trying to figure out if we have enough data to make accurate models that predict the future.

But, what does that even matter? If we make strides to keep the planet clean, that could mean jobs. I think disagreeing over the nuances of climate change barks up the wrong tree.

Not settled that it has "accelerated anything"

Quote:I mean we've seen human activity damage ecosystems and whatnot.

And we've seen bevers do the same. Every animal impacts ecosystem.

Quote:What I don't believe to be settled science is the notion that we know what this is going to mean for the future.

This is true. The assumption has been made "earth 0.2c warmer=bad" when it may, in fact provide greater growing season on much of the planets land mass.

Quote:There are scientists within the climate change community who are still trying to figure out if we have enough data to make accurate models that predict the future.

Because they don't yet know how it works. They have all the data they could want. More than they have the power to fully digest.

Quote:But, what does that even matter? If we make strides to keep the planet clean, that could mean jobs. I think disagreeing over the nuances of climate change barks up the wrong tree.

Because we've dropped our focus on heavy metals and real toxic pollutants over CO2 which is expelled by nearly every living thing on the planet.

In terms of "difficulty" I rank Engineers like this

Aerospace
Hydro / Petro
Mechanical
Electrical
Computer / Systems
Civil
Industrial

Sanitation FIFY 03-wink

So a Mech E is up there.

I never take this type of statement seriously. One cannot be destroyed in a debate if there is no debate in the first place. Tucker Carlson is not debating Bill Nye, he is the moderator. He has a staff that's has researched for him and can give him real-time information and direction. Nobody's debating anyone in this situation because it's not two people on equal ground. It's like saying the referee destroyed a basketball player in 1 on 1. /rant

What happened here was what happens in the majority of these conversations. The host wants to talk about one thing and will interrupt all he wants to steer the conversation his way. It's all a show. I'd like to see a real debate between the two of them. An hour with split allotments of time where they don't address each other, but come with their points.

Lol!

Man, if we didn't have the guys involved that gets our crap our of our homes and into the plants we'd be in trouble. How we take it for granted.

I didn't rate them by importance, I rated them by difficulty.

Some cringe-worthy television right there. Although I have to give Tucker and Fox credit for giving some air time to an attempted discussion of science.

Tucker Carlson Eviscerates Bill Nye ‘The Nonsense Guy’ As To The ‘Settled Science’ of ‘Climate Change’

Tucker doesn’t even break a sweat in exposing this buffoon for the charlatan that he is.
