I just wanted to get the consensus of everybody, on who will be the captains on this years football team? Obviously Ray Lawry, strong possibility of Bunmi Rotimi, but who else? Any possibilities. I know it's basketball season, and the Monarchs are coming together at just the right time. But I'm interested on what everybody thinks.

This recognition isnt always about what happens on the field. Given that, I think Josh Marriner will probably be a captain. Everything I've read about the young man screams leader.

I don't think they could go wrong with OX either.

I am guessing Jonathon Duhart will be a captain.

Yes sorry, Brandon Addison will be a Redshirt Senior this year

Thought he was our best player last year.

I don't recall how they have done this in the past, but I suspect captains will not be chosen until after spring training. I can easily see Ximines being a captain as a junior.

Congrats to all four. They are definitely all deserving. I am a little surprised to see three on defense and only one on offense.

Surprised that Lawry is not a captain.

Captains are not the best players on the team. They are the guys that show up every day, work hard, are good leaders/set good examples.

I'm not saying Lawry isn't, but he's been suspended in the past and these guys seem more deserving.

That is not a knock on Lawry. I love the guy and he seems like a good player/person.

I don't recall Lawry being suspended, however; He did have to sit out some practices for not meeting off-season conditioning goals. The 4 captains are all good candidates
