Kentucky lawmaker’s bill forces men to get note from wives before purchasing Viagra
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morn...ng-viagra/

Quote:Tired of what she considers the government inserting itself into women’s private lives, a Kentucky lawmaker has decided to return the favor.

Rep. Mary Lou Marzian, a Louisville Democrat, has introduced a bill that would force men who want to use erectile dysfunction drugs to jump through a series of humiliating hoops beforehand, such as visiting a doctor twice and getting notes from their wives.

This Woman is known as a weirdo Liberal here in Louisville. Democrats no longer have power in the State legislation so it will never pass.

Men need protection from Mary Lou. She wants to punish us because she can't have her way with reproductive/abortion rights. As if that is the same thing as her stupid bill. Earth to Moonbat Mary...come in please!

“I want to protect these men from themselves,” Marzian, who is a nurse, told the Courier-Journal. “This is about family values,” she added. Mazian told Fox affiliate WDRB that House Bill 396 would also require that someone seeking Viagra, Cialis, Levitra or Avanafil “make a sworn statement with his hand on a Bible that he will only use a prescription for a drug for erectile dysfunction when having sexual relations with his current spouse.”

Well...There you go. She wants to protect people from themselves. Bless her heart.

Yeah this is stupid, but at the same time women have to go though quite a bit of stupid, embarrassing, and unnecessary inconviences to get the reproductive care they need.

They give out almost free contraception at the Health Department my wife runs...even to minors without their parents permission. You can also get a dozen multicolored condoms in a bag by just asking for a "brown paper bag" at the desk.

I do however understand however that gynecological exams are invasive by nature and no fun.

Yeah, but I don't consider that to be an unnecessary inconvenience for any woman. Inconvenience, sure, but there's a reason it's also called a "well woman exam".

RE: Kentucky lawmaker’s bill forces men to get note from wives before purchasing Viagra
Women under 18 may need the permission of a parent in some states to have an abortion and maybe to get on the birth control pill because they are minors.

Beyond that there are very few if any obstacles to getting birth control for a woman.

Granted no one will read your mind, order it for you and deliver it to you…
a woman or her partner does have to take a bit of responsibility and initiative to go get it but if you are even remotely responsible about not wanting to get pregnant it can be taken care of pretty easily.

There are any number of different kinds of BC from the bill to an IUD, to a hormone patch, condoms, etc. Some require a visit to a doctor or CNP but some do not. All require a measure of responsibility but none require permission of their partner.

As it should be. Until they reach the legal age of consent, girls shouldn't be allowed to make potentially life changing decisions like that without parents' (parent's?) permission. Plain and simple. Once they are legally an adult, it's on them. And that's the way it should be everywhere.

How so? Unless she is pregnant I never go to my wife's appointments.

Are you kidding me? It's a life changing decision that they will be responsible for for the rest of their lives. How can you say the teen shouldn't have a say in the biggest decision a person would ever have to make?
