Take Johnson off of Akron and I'm not sure they are even a .500 team in the MAC. Akron has a lot of good shooters, but outside of Antino and I suppose maybe Kwan nobody else can create their own shot. The attention Big Dog draws in the post is what creates shot opportunities for everyone else.

I expect Akron to take a huge step back next year as they have looked inept every time Big Dog heads to the bench for a breather.

that is wayyy overstating the impact of Big Chubbs who spends half the game either on the bench or bent over huffing and puffing on the court.

Considering all but 3-4 of Akron's conference wins have been by single digits, I don't find it farfetched.

Yes, but Dambrot and his sorcerer's ways still always manage to put a top MAC team on the floor.

I feel Dambrot's consecutive years winning 21+ games streak is in serious jeopardy next year. Outside of Kwan and Big Dog (both seniors) nobody on this team has shown the ability to hold their own when playing long stretches at the 4 or 5. Not having a backup C that can hold his own might actually be the Zips downfall this year as Big Dog will asked to play heavy minutes in Cleveland.

Are Coppin St. and Adrien supposed to be tougher next season?

I like the guys on Akron's bench this year. good young interior talent and the one kid can play a wing on offense and guard a big on the other end. akron will have back a bunch of good guards with tons of experience who can control games against so so teams. most teams play 32-33 at least. so, hey will win 21.

Probably about as tough as Mississippi Valley State and Hiram were this year.

I believe All-MAC, All-Freshmen, All-Defensive are today and then specialty awards are tomorrow and wednesday.

I think you're right. Last year the All-MAC teams were announced March 7th. Which was the Monday of tournament week.
