Foley does it again
Congrats to Coach Foley and his ladies. They've done it again. This guy is amazing. They will have to play better than they have the past three or four games to win the tournament. They haven't handled a zone defense well at all. We haven't shot well, with lots of turnovers. We've done it with the bigs leading the way. I don't think this team hasn't played Joe Foley defense as well as some of his other teams of the past. They've won the past few games despite these things. Don't know if we could have beaten some of the better league teams with our performances lately. I'd feel safe saying they can expect to see zone defenses until they can hit some outside shots. That said, I expect Joe to find a way for us to have a chance to win. Did I say this guy was amazing?

RE: Foley does it again
Yes, he is truly amazing. I really don't understand it, and I have been watching his teams for years. I have always believed "players" are what determines a team's success. But, there is no doubt Foley simply "outcoaches" people. I wonder if this may be just a little "easier" to do in the women's game, which is much more tactical and stresses fundamentals, compared to the athleticism we see on the men's side. Foley can clearly beat just about any team, on a given night, outside the Top 10 or so. The top few teams are simply too big, too strong, and too talented. It would sure be interesting to see Joe Foley matchup with Geno Auriemma, if you gave them each a team with equal talent.

Sure as hell don't want it to ever happen, and I'm sure it won't, especially at Arkansas, but I would like to see what Foley could do, say at an Arkansas, or another big name school, where he would be able to get the real "bigs" that he can't get here. If he could get that kind of big here, along with, the others he recruits here, he'd really almost be untouchable in the SBC.
