The same pattern holds for the non-conference schedule, where we were 0-2 against two very good teams and 9-0 against all the teams that we should have beaten. I would say this performance is the mark of an average team that is very well-coached and comes to play every night.

In order to win the MAC tournament, we probably will have to win three consecutive games against top-4 teams. That seems very unlikely. On the other hand, no one has blown us out, so a tournament championship isn't inconceivable.

Great game by Boyd today. The other big story was the bench, which came through with 19 crucial points. I thought Mariella did a great defensive job on Shipman. Most of Shipman's open looks came when Mariella wasn't guarding her.

Our bigs need to rebound better. How does Monakana finish the game with zero rebounds? McIntyre got 4 today and in general just isn't a very good rebounder, which is a bit of a mystery to me.

Since we're not bringing in any big players, I can't see the rebounding improving. DI teams get 15 scholarships. No reason we don't have 5 players 6-1 or taller.
We do have five 6'1 or taller, but one has sat out with a red shirt season due to injuries. As someone else stated, boxing out, holding the box out, following up on shots, and quickness to the ball are more important. The MAC is league built on quickness. Coaches have done a nice job of recruiting and rebuilding the team based around quickness. I do agree with Dwight that Monkana and McIntyre need to rebound better. They are weak on using their feet and bodies to stay in good rebounding position. Just notice we have +1.7 rebounding edge per game.

I meant for next year. McIntyre is 6-2, Woody is nowhere near 6-1. Beacham may never play. That leaves one player 6-1 or taller.

Next year four 6'1 or better. McIntyre, Beacham, Rasmussen, and Woody. Have talked and stood next to all them many times, all are as listed. Infact, Rasmussen maybe under stated. Not sure where the Beacham talk came from but she will be here next year.
