Question Rice vs SELa ... Friday game
Pregame warm-ups in full swing at Valhalla. Kolsch, as opposed to kolaches, is icing down and ready.

75 minutes to gametime ... and Riceowls.com says: Top 1st (0 on, 0 out).

RE: Rice vs SELa ... Friday game
Is Ben McDonald doing the broadcast tonight? Nothing like an impartial broadcaster like him at the LSU regional last year (with his LSU ties and the fact that he's Max Sceroler's uncle). Nope we don't get McDonald as Mike mentioned, we get Alex DelBarrio instead.

I think Gneiting and Chandler have flip-flopped in the lineup - Chandler batting 7th tonight after a bit of a slump to begin the season.

All sorts of technical issues on the audio. Myers with a solid 1-2-3 frame.

Gneiting K (suspect call), Warren GO 3u, Proctor 1B, DiCaprio F8.

No score after 1.

What is this disclaimer they keep reading about weather issues affecting the better broadcast quality of the video for baseball? When the football field flooded a month ago, did that ruin some of the video equipment?

1 out single scores a run. Bad mechanics in field (RF throws to 3rd instead of cut off man) moves runners to 2nd and 3rd, 1 out.

Myers get out of it with only the 1 run scoring. 1-0 SE La after 2 1/2.

And BTW Sarchet is not a smooth looking leftfielder, sorry. I can't believe the Lions didn't try to score on the 2nd out (a fly out to left).

Myers won't stop throwing high, even after Graham comes out to the mound twice.

RE: Rice vs SELa ... Friday game
I think Myers might have gotten a little hurt when he dove full length to catch a bunt for an out in the 3rd. He got up slowly after that play and continued on but his body language just doesn't look good.

So when are we going to see that high-power Rice offense we've been reading about all winter?

Wow the pace of this game is even slower than Tuesday's opener.

Indeed. His throw after that fly was halfway toward the pitcher. No way it would have nailed the runner if he'd gone.

Leadoff double by Proctor. Maybe that will get the offense going. 1-0 SE La, B4.

DiCaprio seeing eye single. Runners on the corner for Lammons. Wonder if we try a squeeze.
