Coach Hawkins and staff deserve a lot of credit for getting this YOUNG team to gel.

Never expected these types of results and improvement to happen this year.

Always enjoyed watching these men play ball, but having them pull it together has been a pleasant surprise. I was looking to the future exclusively...but the future is now.

Playing much better defense has been the biggest difference during the five-game win streak than previously. Let's hope there's a big crowd at U. Arena today for the biggest home game of the season. No other conflicts and the Broncos could use a sizable crowd to their advantage. Fight On!!

85-50 final.

Don't look now but WMU's won 6 straight and is tied for 1st in the division. Go Broncos!

Hawk notched his 250th win at WMU, too.

WMU tied with BSU for first place in the west!

But hey, Hawkins is kinda boring-we need to hire a young, energetic coach to bring excitement back into the program. 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

Haymond played very well today and I've been critical of him. If he can play like this the rest of the season we can do very well.

Johnson was incredible, Wilder is really starting to lead this team in addition to being a great player. And Dugan played much more dominant today.

All the pieces are starting to work well together and at just the right time.

Bring on NIU and CMU!

For sure - Dugan had a few really, really nice moves down low in the second half.

I like how this team's come together. The next month should be fun.

There was a long in the 2ns half where 4 freshmen and Lamont were in for a stretch. They expanded the lead during that time, and all 5 players actually made our offense look beautiful. This team could really become something.

The future's so bright, we may have to wear shades.

Band wagon fans had best jump aboard as the train is leaving the station. 6 in a row and showing no signs of slowing down.

3 down, 2 to go

March through the west for the title

There is so much truth in this statement. Going into the BSU game WMU ranked 11th (2nd worst in the conference) for scoring defense giving up 78.2 points per game. Hawk himself, said about 6 weeks ago that this team has played the worst defense of any team he has ever coached at WMU. Fast forward to today, and over the 6 game win streak, they have only given up an average of 65.3 points per game. I wouldn't be surprised if they are the top defense in the league over that span.

Kudos to Hawk and the staff for getting the team to where they need to be. And of course, to the players for accomplishing the improvement.
