Such a depressing environment comparatively

Tampa Bay is what minor league soccer looks and sounds like. Everything about FCC is first class.

Also what minor league soccer looks like ... I've never heard a final score (or even who won).

Soccer in America never features on ESPN etc.. so that's the same as major leagues if you aren't paying attention to pro soccer sports reporting etc..

Local TV News covers it better than UC football recently..

RE: Nippert Defilement - Saw it Tonight
Let's be honest...and I propose nothing here...

Nippert is damn near perfect for UC. IF...a huge IF here...FBS reay is untenable (let's not debate that point here, let's just assume the worst for a moment) Nippert can be easily modified downward to be an FCS sized facility. You either "block off" or even remove Reed Shank and you're set. It is not like the Sun Bowl or Rice Stadium, where it was so over-built where you are screwed. (Not to mention a Pro stadium like the Linc or Tampa...). On the other hand, it is good-to-go right now for FBS and might be expandable, if need be.

So quit the theatrics about "Nippert pond."

Nippert Stadium hosting a USWNT friendly on 9/19. Solely because of FCC success. Good or bad for the universit of Cincinnati? Hmmmmmm

Will they be bringing in grass for this? I thought I'd heard in the past that the national teams wouldn't play on turf?

That's pretty awesome, what a cool opportunity for the city and UC.

They also announced a partnership with a local girls soccer academy. If MLS happens, i wouldnt be shocked if FCC announces a women's NWSL team. Maybe they buy what infrastructure the WPSL Sirens have and move them up (after a brand redo) or they start from scratch. But it sure seems like a little groundwork was made today.

Good time to do it. The Bearcats basically do not play at home in September. The Austin Peay game is 8/31 and Marshall is coming to town on September 30th.

USMNT that is true, but for WNT it isn't always a demand iirc, Since the field is not housing any home games through September, they would have nearly 3 weeks for the grass to be put down and then leveled, but that is some expense etc..

Yeah, that's only USMNT. Hell, the USWNT played an entire WC on artificial surfaces a few years back.

I actually thought that was part of the issue the womens team took up in last 18 months..
equal pay, and equal field quality..

I assume the Rowdies must be the other team. Does FCC have a nickname like that? I've only ever heard them called FCC.

No, there are monikers, but not a clear nickname...that's a European angle for sure.

Actually attended an FCC game, because grand daughters are special. Only 21,000 showed up.

Damn it I was likely sitting right beneath you tonight doss. Maybe I'll catch you next time I'd love to have a beer with you.

And just go ahead and admit you're getting sucked into the FCC madness.

No but bought grand daughter a scarf and hat. Grand daughters are special. FC should have won 4-0. Some very questionable calls.

Common sense says MLS, FCC and UC need to find a way that minimizes cost and maximizes profits for all. It makes so much sense it will not happen. Remember I am a retired BBA, MST, CPA, CFO type. Such a background is hard to forget.

Sitting beneath? Was he tossing his table scraps to the peasants sitting below?

Was there with yesterday with our group . Rolled into Clifton about 4p tried to get into Adriaticos then Keystone .. Both places packed . Settled for one of the last tables at B- Dubs. Cant help but think on a Sunday afternoon during the summer things would be nearly dead in the Calhoun / McMillan bar - restaurant area
