I will back Mohajir up in that we did get an offer from Mississippi State. He first actually talked about it two years ago.
I don't detect jealousy. We've known about it for years that Mohajir will not do a 2 for 1. We've known for a while that we've turned down a couple SEC home games because they insisted on a 2 for 1 with a discounted 2nd road game.
The game makes perfect sense for App. It doesn't for Arkansas State. We're two entirely different programs.

The biggest advantage we have in this department is we never had TV money to begin with, so it's not like we're trying to make up for lost revenue like many CUSA schools are having to do.
I think Selig knew ours would drop but probably not to the extent it did. We budgeted for less than we were getting and had a surplus budget our first few years in CUSA. So the hit wasn't quite as hard as it could have been but still you've got to make ends meet. I don't know if we'd agree to a 2-1 from out of state schools the same as we did for UVA. Our deal with VT is 4 in Blacksburg 3 in Norfolk, which is actually 2 contracts a 2-1 and a 2-2. Other than that we sold a game to Vandy and NCST and the rest are H&H. I imagine we'll do some more buy games in the future due to help with the budget.
We always end up in a difficult spot with buy games. We know as a program that we need roughly 1,4 million or so in guarantees to help with the budget. Unfortunately, the schools willing to pay that or more to offset travel are the top P5 schools in the country. We end up with games with Alabana type teams instead of NC State teams that we could beat.

Terry turned down an offer to play UK in Lexington and Nashville. They offered something ridiculous like $100,000 for going to Lexington and would let us keep the gate in Nashville minus $100,000 and cost of renting the stadium.
And at heart he's still a trash talking defensive back and he's going to toss out as much as he thinks he can without getting scolded by the president or chancellor.

Any AD with a brain would turn down that offer. That's Kentucky thinking they are Alabama or something...
