I know USM beat them in Hattiesburg. That's the reason I asked about the tiebreaker. If USM had lost, the tiebreaker would be won by UNT.

I have looked at the tiebreakers.
I can't find any scenarios where USM could lose the tiebreaker at 5-13.
Even with FIU (who you also beat) or a 3-way tie with UNT and FIU. The early UTEP win seals it.

USM = "clinched"

How about a 3-way tie with NT, FAU, and USM ? North Texas goes 2-1, FAU 1-1, and USM 1-2

I guess then you break North Texas out of the tie, and pit USM vs. FAU in head-to-head, and FAU beat Southern Miss.

That would leave the Golden Eagles out of the tourney.

North Texas is currently 0-2 in this group with losses to USM Jan 19 and FIU Feb 11. Even with a win Saturday that just gets them to 1-2.

USM is 2-0 now and would be 2-1 in the 3-way tie scenario.

FAU, not IU

What about a four-way tie at 5–13 among FAU, USM, UNT, and FIU?

Best I can figure, FAU and USM would be in.

FAU 3-1, NT 2-2, USM 2-2, FIU 1-3 against the group of four

I assume (and it depends on how the tiebreaker rules read for the conference) that then you remove FAU from the group of 4, and then narrow it down to a group of "3" (NT 1-2, USM 2-1, FIU 1-1). Thus, USM makes it in at #12

If, by rule............. FIU also drops out of the "Group of 4" because they have the worst record (and then USM goes against NT head-to-head), USM gets in due to their win over UTEP. North Texas' best win would be over Marshall

Halftime:
USM 47
UNT 30

But UNT is starting to hit all their shots, so 2nd half will be up for grabs.

Now I just need MTSU, UTEP, and UAB are on the same bracket.

or that you dont get matched up with UTSA

haha - I thought we have returned the favor to you guys in SA already 03-wink
I think the only team that we don't match up well against is UAB + their home field advantage.
We can play tough defensive game against the like UTEP, ODU and MTSU or in a shoot out against Marshal or Rice.

I was talking about Vegas... in the WAC tourney.

Now I remember it - we got knocked out the first round by you guys, didn't we?
