New coach has breathed some new life into the team. We need a strong showing pre-conference.

RE: LU Baseball off to a good start
This is good news and it is even better to beat big name schools like Kansas and Kentucky. I can't speak to their skill in baseball but they are Big 12 and SEC schools which are always good to beat.

It is encouraging to see our start after the last few years of disappointments. Let's get back to the NCAA tournament!

What I see most are improved fundamentals and a bit more game planning.

RE: LU Baseball off to a good start
Fundamentals is one thing. You can teach it until you're blue in the face but if the players aren't learning it then it may be the players' fault (not all the time because a good coach needs to present it in a way that the players learn). But game planning should be a no-brainer. A coach that doesn't game plan is like an athlete who doesn't practice or lift weights and expects just to get by on talent. A coach's job consists of game planning and it makes you wonder what he was doing the rest of his time. I know they have to recruit and they have practices but the kids have classes and everything else going on that leaves plenty of time to look at film, lineups, statistics, etc. I hope our last coach was doing those things and just didn't get the results but you never know. People get complacent and Liberty is all about moving up to the top.

I guess by game planning I was referring to moving players around to maximize their production for the team, i.e.- our new closing pitcher who was a starter last year.

We could use someone beside Sammy to start hitting. He's been awesome but he could use some support.

That was a tough one to lose to nationally ranked St. John's team. Hopefully we can sweep the double header tomorrow to take the series.
