RE: Gino's Homecoming
Much rather have Zach Collaros as our HC in the future rather than Gino. Collaros was and is a born leader.

Collaros is the man. Stuebenville's finest. I've heard Collaros called the 4th most famous person from Stuebenville. After Rollie Fingers, Dean Martin, and Jimmy the Greek.

But Gino is a helluva get for us. I'm pumped.

RE: Gino's Homecoming
Just based upon things I've read such as his mastery of BK's offense, I thought Mauk might make a fine coach someday. I know his younger brother has had some problems but hopefully Ben is doing well.

Great to see Gino's return. Don't know Daddy Guidugli and not that he was in the right, but I bet there's a lot more to the story than in the article above. So I'll withhold most of my judgement on that.

He has been coaching that position group since 2010.

Good to know. Just odd since he didn't run much himself and we passed 70% of the time when he was qb.

Brian Kelly was a defensive player in college and started off coaching defense. Urban Meyer was a DB at UC. Many many coaches are successful coaching positions they didn't actually play.

How does he recruit and how did his RBs do at CMU? The alumni thing is nice but those two things are more important to me.

RE: Gino's Homecoming
I had speculated in another thread/stated he'd be a good pick up. No one thought he'd accept because he was an OC for Central. I'm glad to have him and think he'll be great.

Agree with Rath about his Dad, huge UC fan while his boys were there... I don't think he's been around much since their graduation.

He was CMU's recruiting coordinator. He also coached Thomas Rawls, who rushed for 1200 yards, 10 TDs before being drafted in the NFL. His other years they rushed by committee and were still one of the better running units in the MAC.

Even though Gino played in the Spread at UC, Dan Enos ran a Pro Style offense at CMU.

As one would expect, CMU recruited a lot of guys from the Greater Detroit area as well as Lansing, Grand Rapids and other parts of Michigan. They get the occasional guy out of Ohio and Illinois.
