Charlie brown and the football again. Something will happen in the next 4-6 years. B12 teams will move and I think there will be one final musical P5 chairs. I really don't see B12 adding anyone before they implode.

When WVU played Texas...IN Morgantown...on Monday night, the game STARTED at 9, Eastern. That was done because Texas is in the Central time zone so the games CAN'T start at 7:00 eastern...they have to go in the LATE time-slot. So, you had a regular season tip at 9 local. Families with children couldn't go. People who had to work in the morning couldn't go. Even some students couldn't go.

Now imagine Arizona playing IN Morgantown. What would that be? A midnight (eastern) tip-off and finishes at 3am? Or imagine WVU playing in Tempe?

For those of you who want a "coast-to-coast" conference, these are real problems. The B12 has run into these problems in both FB and BB season since they took in WVU and the WVU fans, in particular, feel it. And that's with TWO time-zones. Imagine trying to schedule the games when you have a THREE HOUR DIFFERENTIAL between your Eastern time-zone viewers and a Pacific time-zone fan base.

It's a nightmare.

The attendance at the Texas game had me rolling. One of the things I've heard WVU say over and over again was that their fans were not interested in playing UC, USF, UConn, etc. and that it caused attendance issues for them in all sports. The funny thing is I am pretty sure there were more people in Morgantown to watch UC play WVU in basketball than vs. Texas the other night and the football attendance vs. UC was pretty good as well.
Please. USF-WVU back on the mid 2000s to early 2010s was a freaking war. Big games, nationally televised audiences, famous performances, everything on the line at least 2-3 times.
WVU seems to forget how amazing that was.

I'm with you, I remember UC and WVU had some epic battles on national TV in front of sold out crowds as well. Their short term memory loss is staggering.

The big12-2 can go suck donkey balls... That league doesn't care for anything I don't even know why they're still around they simply need to go hang themselves and quit wasting everyone's time.

Other than the crappy insulting tv deal the AAC currently has this league could do circles around that overrated big12-2 conference.

Pay the AAC what it actually deserves and let's call it a day, ESPN

With Big 12 expansion talk refusing to go away, here’s a look at two possible scenarios

http://gridironnow.com/?p=1075496

Oh my goodness....I read the ridiculous article and his "two scenarios" for the Big 12 are wait for it......Arizona and Arizona St. bawhahahahahaha. DavidSt is more capable on writing a big 12 expansion dream article than this guy!!! Hahahaha

Cheers!

I like how he lays out the math for this "money grab" by Arizona/Arizona St.

Quote:Exact comparisons get a bit sticky, but the Pac-12’s members can expect to receive somewhere around $27 million in conference revenue for the 2015-16 school year.
...
Last June, the Big 12 announced it had distributed $30.4 million to its 10 members.

The Big12 signed away the automatic bump in pay for adding members. So double check the math yourself, but that means that the "money grab" would be those two signing up to take $2M less a year than they currently get.

Do you have a source for that outside the rumors that were reported? Last I heard, Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby did not confirm that rumor and only said the negotiations were still ongoing.

http://www.cbssports.com/college-footbal...ks-active/

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby shot down a Monday report that ESPN had bought out the pro rata clause that would force the network to pay extra should the conference decide to expand.
"I don't know where they get that stuff," Bowlsby said of a SportsBusiness Journal report that circulated Monday.
“For one thing, all of our TV negotiations are still active. There’s nothing concluded.”
