Zac Woodfin - moving to the P5
http://footballscoop.com/strength-scoop/

Quote:Kansas: Sources tell FootballScoop Southern Miss head strength coach Zac Woodin is expected to join the Kansas staff in a similar capacity. Woodfin was selected by prior winners as the 2014 FootballScoop Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year for his work at UAB. Considered an excellent leader of men, Southern Miss recently turned to Woodfin to serve as interim director of athletics after their AD departed on short notice for a position in California.

I just hope his tenure in FB at Kansas doesn't turn out like so many FBHCs at that (basketball) school. How long has it been since Kansas has been a legitimate P5 program in FB?

I think I remember reading somewhere that their 2018 recruiting class is looking really good right now.

Someone's trying real hard to right the ship up there. Zac is a good hire for them. But I do agree...it's a shame he's no longer with us.

There will have to be at least one more retirement before Woodfin can return to UAB.

Kansas? I hope the money is good. Really good.

Zac is a great hire for them though.

2007 and 2008. 2007 was a spectacular season. There is no correlation between a good football school being poor in basketball or vice versa. You repeat it all the time, but for every one example you have I can name 2 or 3 where it doesn't apply.

I'm glad to see Zac get the Kansas job. He can really help that program out. Zac is GREAT, but believe me, Lyle Henley is really good too!

OK, Help me learn about my mistaken opinion. List the schools who have been in the national Top 10 in both sports in the same years in this century.

Well, there's Florida winning both championships in the same year (2006) and four total in three years.

Twelve schools in both sports' Top 10 at the same time over 17 years -- that is impressive.

ask the question: name the schools that have been CONSISTENTLY in the top 10 over the last 17 years in just one sport or the other. neither of those lists are very long. so, putting a team in the top 10 in both sports at the same time is a bit of a statistical improbability

i find your condescending tone quite ironic

There are more schools. The ones listed are just off the top of the head.

RE: Zac Woodfin - moving to the P5
Zac left a lasting impression at USM. He is one special person and he will be missed. That said, we all knew he was not going to be in Hattiesburg for long. I wish him the very best and will watch his rise in his profession. I would like to see him back at UAB one day myself. Here is what our former coach, Todd Monken, posted on twitter last week about Zac.
