I actually think BYU would seriously consider to be part of the AAC that also includes all 3 military academies:

NORTH: UConn, Temple, Cincinnati, ECU
EAST: UCF, USF, Memphis, Tulane
SOUTH: SMU, Houston, Tulsa, *Rice
WEST: Navy, *Air Force, *Army, *BYU

OR

NORTH: UConn, Temple, Cincinnati, ECU, *Buffalo
EAST: UCF, USF, Memphis, Tulane, Houston
SOUTH: SMU, Tulsa, Navy, *Rice, *Army
WEST: *Air Force, *BYU, *Boise St., *SDSU, *UNM/CSU/UNLV?

For Olympic sports:

EAST:UConn, Temple, Cincinnati, ECU, Buffalo, UCF, USF, Memphis, Tulane
WEST: Houston, Rice, SMU, Tulsa, AFA, BYU, BSU, SDSU, UNM/CSU/UNLV?

Can you do pods without a change in the rules? You either have to split into two divisions where the winners play in a CCG or have one division and play a true round-robin. That was my assumption anyway.

I know this would never happen, but the 2nd South group would be great for my family, as we'd have my school (Rice) and two of by brothers' schools (Army, Navy) in the same division. School I'd miss most is UTSA. San Antonio makes for a fun, doable road trip for current Rice students, and I'm more concerned about that than what's going to get Rice a bigger television contract or into the next FBS playoff (which likely isn't happening for any schools mentioned above anyway). I don't see much movement any time soon though. Tschuess.

Trade Rice for NIU. Move NIU to the North, ECU to the East, and Tulane to the South. I'm sold.

<3 that's why you're the bestest! Save us from the MAC plz, our schedule is abysmal... 2 Saturday home games this year. 2. That is it. And people wonder why our fan base is wavering...
