And there is the fundamental difference. It isn't the damned federal government's job, or constitutional right for that matter, to bring any school lunch program to the entire nation.
It is when many areas need it...and if the government is subsidizing a lot of it, they're going to put their regulations on it. That's just the way it's going to go.

How about showing me the portion of the Constitution that gives the federal government the power and responsibility to set school lunch standards.

It's right beside the filibuster and gerrymandering clauses.

Granted, I went to a private school, but everyday one of the clubs sold lunch from various places. I recall one day it was Chick-Fi-La, another, Papa Johns, another Rallys, another egg rolls from a killer local Chinese joint. Sometimes there were multiples. Worked out beautifully. Everyone was happy and nobody was hungry.

So we eliminate all three. Win/win. Kids don't go hungry, the leftists in Congress stop acting like children and we can get rid of embarrassments like Maxine Waters. Big win for South Carolina as we'll rid ourselves of the only major leftist elected official left in our state.

Pennsylvania School Lunch Improves, Makes Money After Dropping Michelle Obama’s Lunch Program
A sample of what happens when you get rid of Obama theory: you make more money, plus you have more and better things to eat.
Quote:A western Pennsylvania high school has experienced an incredible turnaround in its lunch program since abandoning Michelle Obama’s National School Lunch Program.
The former first lady’s lunch program was widely criticized for being unappealing to students, according to TheBlaze.
Parents were unimpressed with the product of the National School Lunch Program as well.
Since opting out of the federal program, Penn-Trafford High School in Harrison City has increased lunch options for students and more than made up for lost federal funding, according to TribLive.
Students at the school waited longer in line for fewer meal choices with Obama’s lunch initiative. Program rules required schools to offer healthier food options with less calories and more fruits and vegetables, but students would often throw fruits and vegetables in the garbage.

Yes, but school lunches have been a disaster since long before then. Federal Government puts a ton of requirements to get the grants for their free lunch programs, but each state can also set requirements.
There's really no good way to fix this issue. Either the Federal Government is going to require it, or the states will.
