Two big games tonight
Arlington at Ga So
Texas St at Ga St

Four of the top five teams going head to head.

Interesting that UTA is almost exactly where we were last year in terms of a chance at an at-large. One loss, and they are probably done. Win out to the finals, and they might stand a chance if things fall out just right.

TSU is hard for me to gauge. They play ugly, blue-collar ball, and so they are better than they look. (I like that kind of ball, but it is still harder to judge.)

UTA and Ga So both look pretty salty.

With Hervey and Bilbao up front, Arlington is pretty impressive.

UTA looks really good. RPI of 36. They win out to the final, I think they get an at-large. We were never near that high last season. Hervey will be player of the year in the league. He doesn't get hurt last season, I doubt our "dream" season happens.

RE: Two big games tonight
For all intents and purposes, I think tonight's win clinches the #1 sport for UTA. ASU is still mathematically alive, but they are a full game back and UTA has the tie-breaker. UTA has home games against Troy and USA, and they haven't lost at home all year. Then they go to last place ULM and ULL. Arkansas State still has to play the Georgia schools, although they will be at home for those 2 games.

Hope he gets to show his stuff on the NCAA stage. He is a big time player. Sweeping the George trip, shows me UTA is definitely peaking at the right time. In the last 2 weeks they have beaten the other 3 contenders (ASU, GSt, GaSou), plus a tune-up against us.

Better be glad we didn't have to play'em twice this year. Or we'd probably be 13-15 right now.

I still say Arlington is the most impressive team in the Belt.

Don't think you'll get an argument from anyone on that. They were slated to win last season until Hervey got hurt. I believe they had 5 starters back plus Hervey. If they win out, they really should be 10 seed, but I doubt they get it. 10 or 11, is better than 9th if you have any dreams of making the Sweet 16.

Our game with the Mavs showed me that we can beat Arlington in the right situation on a Neutral court, but no one is beating them at home.

Ya. I think if you hit a few more foul shots you could have won. They are still the best team in the league but, obviously, anything can happen if you get them on a neutral court in New Orleans.

I will say I was impressed by GSU's crowd. Lots of folks there, and making some noise.
