ECU baseball still ranked
Despite an 0-3 start.
Houston jumps into the Top 25.

Should've. Ranked too high in the beginning and lost to an elite team very early in the season.

games were too close to completely put us out, but we will need the wins this week to stay.... beat Campbell @ Campbell and sweep LaSalle.

Losing 3 1-run games on the road in the SEC is no big deal. Looking at ECU's schedule, they are probably about to go on a run of wins.

Whatever the sport, ECU is moral victory national champs, per many of our fans.

RE: ECU baseball still ranked
I always thought ECU had a pretty knowledgeable fan base for baseball, after reading the 247 board all weekend I have to say that may not be true. Mostly folks seem to think you're just supposed to hit dingers every at bat and strike everyone out.
We'll be fine. We've play 3 games out of a 55 plus game season, hardly enough sample size to judge a team. Hitting is usually ahead of pitching this time of year and they had phenomenal pitching. We are going to be a really good offensive club. Bullpen is all I am still worried about because the woes have somewhat rolled over from the same problems last year with middle relief. I will hold judgement until at least after the Keith LeClair Classic though.

I predicted this whenever ECU was eliminated last year with the way some (I underline some, not all) of your fans were talking about how 2017 was CWS or bust. The hype went to their heads.

One thing baseball analysts seem to understand better than any other sport: Midseason form is more important than the stuff you do in the beginning.
In football, what you did the year before gives you a leg up for the entire season.

Yeah we get to 40 and likely regional host. We had some bad breaks and some rust induced errors plus we were on the road. Not to mention we were slightly over ranked and Ole Miss was severely under ranked.

3 losses to a quality team aren't a big deal. College baseball is a long season. Looking at the schedule, I have a feeling ECU will be picking up many wins prior to conference play.

It is CWS or bust. The team looked really good. They seemed to lack the grit that we saw the past couple years this weekend, but that will be fixed I'm sure.
Bullpen needs sorting out, but overall this team might be the best ECU has ever had, 2001 team is the only that could challenge them for me.
Anyone in or around the program will tell you it is CWS or bust

I don't doubt that it is. I was just using that as an example of what DownEast was talking about, how expectations may have gone to some of your fan's heads. Just because you have a CWS-worthy team doesn't mean that you're going to "hit dingers every at bat, strike everyone out", or win every game.

We need to kick off that pitcher we sent out second on Saturday that also screwed the pouch during the super regional. I know he's only a sophomore but damn he's just not showing up in the games where he needs to.

To be fair we need to be more aggressive. Williams-Sutton got struck out looking twice on pitches he should've attacked with runners in scoring position.

ECU drops out of the NCBWA poll, but receive votes.
Houston comes in at 24.
Tulane is also receiving votes.
*********
ECU 15th and Houston 19th in the Perfect Game poll.

80 here Friday and 81 Saturday. We better have 5,500 plus show up. I wouldn't see any reason not to push 6,000 for Saturday.
