RE: LU football FBS games - to be updated
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Coastal games over the years, but I would dump that in a heartbeat if we could develop a rivalry with a service academy like Army or a regional school like ODU.

And I don't blame the Coastal folks for being cocky. That CWS pennant looks great flying on their campus. But let's see what they do in attendance with Sun Belt schools rolling into their tiny crib.

Agreed. Coastal was a great rival, and may still continue to be. However, I would trade that rivalry for a more regional rivalry as well. I am sure they feel the same way.

I wouldn't mind moving on from Coastal but with almost zero history with the majority of FBS schools, I think we could mutually benefit regularly scheduling each other until we create better match ups for each other. ODU would be great, as would either ACC Virginia school. To be fair, I think we could have a rivalry with just about anyone under the the right circumstances.

Well, we have a road game at New Mexico Lobos in 18 and they come to Lynchburg in 19.

Even if LU won't announce opponents until the schedule is complete doesn't prohibit opponents from releasing the information.

That's a pretty good game to get in my opinion.

First, congrats to LU for scheduling their first FBS opponent to come to Williams Stadium and to New Mexico for being the first announced team. As this announcement came from NM, and LU's current policy, as stated on this board, is to wait to annouce the schedule once it's complete, wouldn't it be better for LU to annouce the games as they are signed to build interest and control the release of the info vs. the opponent making the announcement? Seems like a weak policy to me.

Edit: I missed the link were a FOIA provided the source for the docs stating the game, not from NM as I assumed.

Its New Mexico not NMSU. Just to clarify for your front page.
