Looks like we are pretty locked as the 10th seed...
although in this crazy league anything can happen. I would rather stay there and play the 7th seed, with the winner playing the 2 seed, than move up to 8th (highly unlikely) where we would have to play the one seed (likely UTA) in the next game if we won.
Actually, after looking at it closer, moving up one spot is unlikely, rather than highly unlikely. We would have to win two games (one of them would have to be USA) and USA would also have to lose to CC and ASU at home, and UTA and TexSt on the road. USA may well be underdogs in all those games, so they could lose them all. Question really is, can we beat them and get one other win. I guess I would rather us go to New Orleans with a couple of wins, in the last 2 weeks, and not worry about the seeding. Of course, if we got 3 or 4 wins, that would change all the calculations, but that seems pretty far-fetched at this point.

The second part of that is very likely, the first part not so much.

USA losing out wouldn't be surprising at all. You guys figuring out how to beat Georgia Southern, Georgia State, or Troy would be.
You match up better with Southern on that list...they can be beaten inside, though their guards are far better than what you guys have.

We can upset somebody if Lis Shoshi is actually at full strength and plays his best. Otherwise we just don't have the talent at the skill positions. I also see GaSou as our best chance for an upset. We need you guys to beat them down for us on Saturday.

Actually, if we upset one of the Georgia schools, our chances of getting the 9th seed (which I wouldn't want) aren't too bad. We could beat USA, although I wouldn't count on that, and they should lose their other 3 games (at the Texas schools and ASU at home) We would have the tie-breaker in that case. LRTrojan has guaranteed we will win one, so one more likely gets us the 9th seed which is probably the worst seed to get in the tourney.
Looking at the standings, we can't get higher than the 8th seed, even if we win out. So if we beat either of the Georgia schools (or both), I may be pulling for USA next week to avoid the 8/9 game.

Not ready to say that. If we win the weekend, I'll have to think about it. Although, I have come to the conclusion that who I "root" for doesn't actually effect the outcome of the game.
Actually, if we sweep this weekend, I'm sure I'll be rooting for us to go into New Orleans on a 4 game winning streak, no matter how that effects the seeding.

9 seed is a far tougher draw than the 10 seed though. You open with ULL, who beat the crap out of you guys twice, and if you win, it's UTA.
10 seed opens with Troy/CCU/Texas State and then faces GS/GSU/AState in round two.

Really nobody I would "relish" playing. Troy destroyed us and is simply way more athletic. CC has a coach with over 40 years of experience as a head coach vs. our coach who has less than 1. ULL has the worst record of all those schools, but as you said, destroyed us twice. My choice would be to open as the 10th seed against TxSt and then play anyone but UTA.

I guess right now I will be rooting for us to sweep the Georgia schools, while hoping USA can pull an upset in Texas. Can't see us beating GaSt, but GaSou seems possible. USA won't beat UTA, but TxSt is in the realm of possibility. If we do sweep, I will probably be pulling for USA next Thursday. Since all that matters, certainly for us, is the tournament, getting a more favorable seed is the most important thing.

If you win just keep winning. Don't need a hic up going into the tournament. But for me I am wanting to follow the Women on the road in NCAA tournament. Last year our 49th anniversary was celebrated with the men in Denver at the Tournament. Hope to celebrate our 50th on the road with the Women in the NCAA.

Norman, OK looks like a possible landing sport which would be an easy drive for all. Lexington wouldn't be bad. If we could move up to a 9 (very unlikely) Starkville would be great as well. But, I guess a long flight won't stop you on your 5Oth anniversary, if it didn't stop you on your 49th.

Starkville may be pretty close, but "great"? Have one of our best basketball memories from there, but as I recall the place is pretty much of a dump. But maybe it has improved over the years last 20 years!

Still my greatest UALR experience. Beating a highly ranked MSU team, that ended up in the Final Four, on their home floor. Derek Fisher throwing a perfect inbounds pass to Derrick Crayton, the only way we could have won the game. And you are the reason we went- you asked me "Why wouldn't you go"- and I couldn't come up with a good reason. I love Starkville. Are you still in North Carolina? Hope all is well with little PT and the Camels.
