Rhoades could be coach of the year if Rice continues its win streak.

JaCorey has been more consistent than Upshaw, I think he gets POY.

Jacorey is the best player in the conference no doubt. However, CUSA would go against the way they've voted the last 20 years if they choose him.

I agree with this, he'll get NOY. And MCcree will probably get POY because LT must have dirt on all of the other voting members.

Upshaw should not be on this list. It's player of there YEAR. He is nowhere are no where close to anyone else on this list.

Yes, and player of the year takes more into account than just scoring. His presence on the court is obvious. However, I think Williams gets my vote over Upshaw.

Best player (Williams) on the best team (Middle Tennessee) should win it, so therefore, he won't. Williams plays with two others that would be the leading scorers on most other teams. Williams shouldn't be punished for not putting up 25 and 30 points a night because he's on a team where two or three others can do that any night.

Tech has that problem also. Boykins didn't even play against Middle and Tech still led most of the game in Murfreesboro and was up by 12 at one point. I really like Tech chances against Middle with all starters on a neutral court

Or just have the single best player - Bracy will win the FR of year going away this year

Agreed. Just wouldn't shock me if Reggie was awarded it. It would take a collapse from Tech and McCree at this point after last night. Mercy McCree is so so good. What a talent.

Don't understand how you can overlook Elmore? Leads league in scoring AND assists. Leads the Nation in point guard double-doubles(pts and assts). 6th most productive offensive player in the country.People that know basketball and watch him regularly will tell you his value is not in the numbers but that he makes everyone around him better. Ask UAB about that with the loss of Nick Norton.NBA people taking note-Steve Nash 2.0?

One of the conditions for Tech to join CUSA is that we will be guaranteed either POY or COY every year. At this point, POY will be Eric McCree :)
I would rather win the damn tourney though!

Well, you can start with the fact that Elmore wouldn't even start for the best team in the league. Hard to be POY when there's teams you wouldn't even start for.

Very true; you will not often see a player on a middle-of-the-pack team awarded especially if they have not made any noise in the year. Yes, stats are cool, but flashy standings and big TV games are more attractive.

Quote:McCree leads Conference USA in double-doubles with 11, and he's hit 48 threes, showcasing the 6’8 forward’s ridiculous versatility.

McCree also averages more PPG and RPG than Williams or Upshaw, his two top contenders.

POY - Eric McCree
