WAC Game of the Week - ESPN3
I don't know how many have noticed this but this has been going on for at least a month if not the whole conference play. It seems the WAC does have an agreement, albeit small, with ESPN given they have had a GOTW on ESPN3. Sometimes it's MBB and others it's WBB. The first one I can recall is CSU at UVU but there may have been one during the first week on WAC play. Just curious if anyone else has noticed this trend? Hopefully it is something that'll continue to advance.

Just browsing I noticed UVU-Wichita St baseball is on ESPN3 today.

OT a little. Does anyone know of a good Android app that I can get alerts from for my school or conference of ESPN3 games? I installed the Watch ESPN app, but....nada. I'm not a big fan of watching on my phone, bit would love to get game alerts for WAC schools' games.

ESPN is just picking up the WAC DN feed, same way they pick up the AggieVision feed. At no cost to them. If there is an agreement, it is just for the WAC DN feed.

Considering how $hi!!y the WAC DN has become, I'll be surprised if ESPN will continue to pick the feed up.

All in all why did the WAC should have announced something in regards to ESPN.

Regardless, it's additional exposure. The games aren't concurrently on the WAC DN. Many smaller conf that have agreements with ESPN use their own announcers for the ESPN3 games too so I wouldn't get too concerned with that. It's been branded by the WAC as the GOTW on ESPN3 as well. The point is this is something beyond just an individual school airing their games on ESPN3 like GCU has been.

Yet schools have gone back to using YouTube this year, instead of the WAC DN. Also the only ones to tune in on ESPN 3 are fans of the schools playing.

Don't get me wrong. The quality of some of the WAC DN games have been horrendous this year. Completely agree with you there. I'm probably just a little more hopeful than I should be that this could lead to something more.
