Rice charged out to a lead and promptly gave.it up. 37 all at the 15:30 mark.

A 7-0 Evans spurt -- a 3 and then a 4-point play on a second 3 -- gave Rice a 44-38 lead. But UTSA ties it at 46 at the under-12 timeout (11:56), as Rice missed several contested layups underneath the basket, and had one TO when the receiver cut in and the ball was passed out.

A slow start by the Owls had me worried. But the last 5-6 minutes we played strong and took control. Thanks to Evans, Koulechov and MLE.

Only 12 TOs for the Owls. Has to be one of their better games in that respect. And 16 assists.

Strong finish, and strong second halves by Jackson, Egor and Quez...but we're going to have to play better-- and for a full 40 minutes-- if we hope to beat UTEP, Marshall and/or LaTech.
