Well we can be a "spoiler"
ASU pretty much started our slide into the abyss. A win Friday would probably put a big dent in ASU's chances for a regular season title. It would also likely kill their shot for an at-large NIT bid. Their RPI is 79 which is very good and definitely puts them in the NIT picture. But, a loss to a low RPI team (i.e. us) would likely kill their at large chances. They can't afford a loss and we are desperately looking for a win. I honestly think we could beat them with a healthy Shoshi. But, he is still clearly not a 100% and doesn't have the stamina to play more short stretches at one time.

Realistically, with 2 home games against the Georgia schools, ASU could possibly recoup from a loss to us But, they would have absolutely no margin for error.

If ASU fails to make the NIT, I wonder if their AD would let the team play in the CIT. I think he should- They have had a great turnaround season. Their fans are starting to get reenergized behind the basketball team. The team and coach deserve it, and their fans would likely support a home game after several years of being down in basketball.

I believe if the stars align correctly, and we have a good shooting game, and play decent defense, we can beat ASU. But what you'll have to "plain" to me is the part about if they lost to a "low NIT team" (i.e. us) Surely I'm not reading this right or something, and surely you're not thinking we are in anyway, even a low NIT team this season, are you?

Whoops. Corrected it. Got my 3 letters wrong. Meant low RPI team. Our RPI is 244. A loss to us would real hurt ASU. Just like our losses to ASU and AppSt. last season, put us in a position where we had to win the tourney to go to the NCAA's. Maybe in the long run that was a good thing.

Generally our fan base has been against pay for play tournaments in the past. I don't expect that to change this year.

Whether or not the school would allow them to play is another story. It's not one will answer either since the stated goal is to still make the NCAA tournament this season.

And, since we are hosting around Valentine's Day this season, I am contractually obligated to remind you that this promo is almost certain to be shown Friday Night at least once.

Cute, but the Arkansas Democrap paper must be sponsoring it since it's UALR. We're Little Rock.

I have to admit it was pretty funny when I saw it last season. Some over there has a good sense of humor.

The promo was created 4 or 5 years ago, long before you switched to Little Rock. It's several years old, but we run it every time we host you guys.

Overall, we use Little Rock with you guys outside of our fan base, which still uses UALR.

Well, with the Georgia schools coming in we can still be a "spoiler" and really help out our friends in Jonesboro. Not sure they will get much help from us, but I expect them to take care of business at the Convo (but, it likely won't be easy).

Obviously, we desperately need a win at home next week. If we can beat one the Georgia schools, and then USA on the road, we can avoid going into New Orleans in a total tailspin. I can't imagine USA is as bad as they looked when we played them in Little Rock. Still, based on what I saw, I have to believe we have a chance to beat them again.
