Howard Mudd was a Hillsdale alum who was an All-Pro Guard for 49ers in '60s, then coached for almost 40 years in NFL.

Played and beat Toledo in '60.

From 1954 through 1960 Hillsdale won the MIAA Football championship every year, winning 41 of 42 games (only loss was to Hope in 1958 when the two were Co-Champions). Many of the wins were blowouts.

Great history, I'm curious if you know if Hillsdale was still in MIAA when they played in NAIA championships game? I imagine Morley sr. coached against them. Interesting stuff. Thanks

You're welcome. Sports history, especially Football, is kind of my hobby.

Fraser coached Albion Football 1954-68. He was 0-7 vs. Hillsdale.

That must have frustrated him, he was a very proud man, an icon of sorts in small college football.

That is interesting, thanks. The Post-Season thing was part of it to be sure, but Hillsdale's dominance on the field probably was the underlying cause.

Muddy actually recruited me to replace Chester Marcol but I chose to go elsewhere. A HS teammate of mine, Ron Parker, did go to Hillsdale, played four years of Football, and was an NAIA All-American in Wrestling.

Broncos take down #3 UMD last night 7-4. 04-bow Second time WMU has beaten top ranked Bulldogs to extend their record to 2-1 on the season vs UMD. 04-rock

Fans/community still have a very unique opportunity to be a part of something special. This team is very exciting to watch and they are the real deal on the hunt for a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. 04-cheers They have consistently showen they can beat the #1 or #2 or #3 ranked teams in the country. Pairwise they have moved up to #4 and with last nights win should be a lock to participate in the 16 team National Tournament starting in three weeks

Tonight is Senior night, perfect opportunity for the casual fan to jump on the band wagon. Now is the time for this community for show its brown/gold pride 02-13-banana, so row the boat over to Lawson Arena, as this community needs to get "ALL IN"

Great turn out Sat., way to represent Bronco fans!! Best crowd of the year (standing room only) and on senior night.

Conference tournament starts next weekend with WMU hosting former CCHA opponent UNO. This will be the last home games of the year, so if you missed these guys this last weekend, there's still time for you to get "ALL IN"

After this weekend, four winning NCHC teams go on the road to Minneapolis to see whom will win the NCHC Conference Tournament and a automatic bid to the NCAA National Tournament

Regional quarter finals will be the weekend after that (location-TBD) with Broncos already a lock for an NCAA National Tournament at large bid, currently sitting at #4 pairwise.

The final weekend wraps up in Chicago with the NCAA The Frozen Four in Chicago.

Great time to be a Bronco and for everyone to be "ALL IN"

Since you already know what this thread is about, why do you bother reading/posting on it? This thread was/is about transferring this years football enthusiasm/support during the off season to the hockey program. We are all Brown & Gold and on the same team

I'm pretty sure there are some WMU Bronco football fans who don't mind jumping on the "hockey" band wagon...

I agree with Hoop.

You bumped the thread 3 times now and people have responded the same way all three times. You're starting to act like me (and believe me that's not a good thing).

There's a reason there are two separate forums.

Hey, we're Broncos, not Football-Broncos, Baseball-Broncos, Hockey-Broncos, etc, etc. . Screw the hyphens!

I really couldn't care less if you praise the hockey program on the football forum or vice-versa.

If someone doesn't like your posts, they do not have to read them.

Then we only need one board like The Dog Pound (NIU) or Eagles' Nest (EMU).

I'll be the contrarian.

I never think to click on the hockey forum, and appreciate these updates and reminders.

Exactly!! Don't like the thread topic, don't read it.

I'm pretty sure there are a lot of Bronco football fans who enjoyed the ride this Fall/Winter who might also be interested in getting in on a similar Bronco experience over at Lawson Arena. Some are already aware what's happening in Bronco land, some are not.
