Perfect example of your lack of basketball knowledge if you are referring strictly to on the court. Niles would destroy him.

maybe but stats say otherwise

Pierre would have Chad in traction before the half.

That's a slap in the face to PHN.

Sorry . . . couldn't resist.

He could jump out of the gym! Other than that I can't remember much about him, too young.

Yep. Drafted by the Bullets, I think, when the draft was like 10 rounds. Great guy, super athletic and great shot blocker for a guy 6-8. High jump record holder as well. Had the record here with like 61 until Keith Lee.

Isbell was pretty high up there. John Kilzer's sidekick.

Isbell could jump higher than any white boy I've ever seen. Went to school with Dennis and Hank. Pretty sure he didn't play with those two

Derrick Chew would be a tremendous help for this team. He was offensive minded, not afraid to get in there and mix it up.

The Pride of Blytheville.

The late, great Dana Kirk used to say that Dennis was the best athlete he ever coached. Smartest guy ever? Um, no, but the best athlete and he said it wasn't even close. The pride of Blytheville, as someone here stated earlier.
I think it's safe to say that Dennis and Kilzer probably played in a bit of a "fog" if you know what I mean. But Isbell was a helluva player, no doubt.

I cant say I would choose Chad or Rivers over any of those backups over the past 7 years.

So yeah we have a talent issue...We will see if Tubby can fix...but he has done well with essentially players who could have been 3rd string on marginal teams.

It depends on what you need.

From the high post--Chad is better than any of those guys. He's a decent passer and has good height. Plus, he's not bad rolling to the rim.

Since Memphis has Dedric and KJ, Memphis doesn't need to have its center planted on the low block like many of the guys above need to do.

Most of those guy (unlike Chad) can't pass out of the low block, either.

So, again, it depends on what you need out of the role player at that position.

What about rebounding and Defense?

You only spoke to offense...

Well, none of those listed above are going to vie as "first team all defense."

In terms of "per 40" Godfrey was the best rebounder and biggest body.

Most others (including Chad) averaged about 8-9 rpg per 40 minutes.

Basically, what I'm getting at is you could probably blind draw any of them and get about the same.

Even with how thin we are in the frontcourt, I would rather have a scoring point guard on this team. This team needs an Elliot Williams type player.
