The Rebels dressed out seven at the tailback slot - Ronald McClendon (four carries, 42 yards), Turner (five for 42), Vashon Pearson (four for 34), Jamal Pittman (four for 20), Brandon Jacobs (two for 13), Alan Abrams (one for eight) and Marvin Vaughan (none).

Notable among the dress roster were freshmen Marcus Cohen, Alan Abrams, Trumaine McBride and Patrick Willis.

Robert Lane ran the scout team offense, completed 4-of-10 passes

Looks to me like Abrams should be the man, but I know that Pittman is going to come around, as for the other four, I'll believe it when I see them change.

I'm wondering the same thing myself... Wish I had a better feeling about our running game. :bang:

I hope that we just find a back to go with, give 25 carries a game, and then a back to counter with. That is it.

Those stats are not bad at all when you firgure out the yards per carry, and the total yards gained is over 150 yards. Much better numbers than we had last season on average!

I was "expecting" to hear that Pittman was running over folks...that does sound like he is running over anything...maybe he just didn't have enough carries. The average per carry is about 8 yards - just quickly looking at the yards and carries (didn't take to time to actually see what it was). If we can average 8 per carry, that would be amazing. 5-6 yards is above average.
