ETA: no doubt, just trying to quantify if the operating budget is at a surplus or deficit. By this definition, it appears that it is a deficit...which is par for the course for a non- power conference conference team.

The Confusion lies in that we're not legally allowed to operate at a deficit, so whatever we budget, we have to have revenue to cover for.

If we claim 43 million, we have to have the revenue to back it up. What we got this time is a 15 million dollar "other areas" line item, which I'm pretty sure is donations meant to fund capital projects in football.

If I was to hazard a guess, our true budget is probably what our numbers would look like without major capital projects would be. (Around 30 million) Thing is, We've still got to build a football ops center, likely build a new baseball stadium, and probably come up with the money to add a Women's sport to meet Title IX in the next 10 years, so I think the budget is going to stay oddly high for a while.

Don't ever go to Jonesboro. Stay away from that place. For the love of god bc1

That's rich......coming from someone who lives in the worlds biggest toilet and that happens to be called Memphis. Memphis.........one of the most crime ridden towns in America.

And I am guessing that BC is a closet piglet fan. Only they like to say that no one outside of Jonesboro cares about ASU. Another one of their classic lies to make up for the piglets own shortcomings.

Arkansas State has a big following in Bald Knob, Arkansas. Good strawberries in that area.

I went to some great parties in Jonesboro when I lived in Memphis. The campus reminded me of Bucknell's...in the middle of nowhere but still a fun, tight-knit community.

The typical fears of back water America about "evil" metropolitan areas probably isn't the best attack route on a AAC message board. Most of us actually live in those "evil" Metropolitan areas and prefer it to Bugtussle America.

Dallas
Houston
Memphis
New Orleans
Orlando
Tampa
Maryland/Baltimore/Washington DC Coast
Tulsa
Cincinnati
Philadelphia

are all places I might actually visit. Jonesboro might be a place to stop for Gas-which is probably why a place like Arkansas St will never be in the AAC

I noticed two omissions from your list of AAC cities you'd like to visit one day. Greenville and Storrs.

Cheers!

Oh now, you'll go where the football powers decide to schedule. And if you chose not to, it won't hurt our feelings or any other peer team who you refuse to accept as being in the same boat you are.

I get tickled at all this posturing between conferences. The P5 has set the table to feast on our bones. Infighting between G5 teams is exactly what they want.

DEAR FRIENDS,

THERE IS AN OMNIPOTENT TROLL NAMED "p23570" WHO IS ATTACKING THE BOARD IN WAYS I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE.

THIS GUY MAKES BIG EAST HOMER LOOK LIKE THE POPE.

I AM ASKING YOU ALL TO PUT ASIDE YOUR DIFFERENCES, SAVE YOUR BATTLES FOR A LATER DAY, AND COME TOGETHER.

IMAGINE A SMART VERSION OF BIG EAST HOMER WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS A LITTLE ABOUT FOOTBALL, AND PERHAPS MORE VICIOUS.

HE MAY NOT HAVE A THOUSAND USERNAMES LIKE BEH (Tigersmoke, Phil Lacio etc etc etc) BUT HE IS MUCH MORE DANGEROUS.

WE NEED TO STICK TOGETHER. SIMPLE. WE SHALL CODE NAME p23570 the following: C3-PO. WE SHALL MAKE A MOCKERY OF THIS TROLL.

IF ANYONE SEES p23570 (AKA C3-PO) REPORT HIM AND REFER TO HIM AS THIS CODE NAME.

THANK YOU ALL.

Is this not what everybody else does for all practical purposes? From what I've been able to discern, most school's yearly operating budgets more closely resemble ope.ed.gov/athletics rather than USAToday numbers.
