Well, we know he's not a true speed guy, but that's still very good for him at that size. I'm hoping he can really show off his hands though, which are definitely above average.

RE: Training for the Combine
hellll ya! if kenny gets down in the 4.3s, which is realistic if hes at low 4.4s now, he's a darkhorse to get up to the 1st two rounds. I think KG is going to be on of those combine warriors and skyrocket up the charts like English did.

Boom!!! If he can run that at the combine the scouts will go crazy...... Mel Kiper has Corey Davis in his top 10 of the First Round. I don't see why KG can't go in the First 2 rounds if he's healthy.

RE: Training for the Combine
Golladay at #81 on this guys big board. He also has Corey Davis as his #1 prospect. Here is an exert from the piece:

Quote:5.I have already mentioned Jerome (who happens to be my favorite small school riser and sleeper prospect), but two other players who could see their stock rise significantly over the next two months are WR Kenny Golladay out of NIU and MLB Connor Harris from Lindenwood. Golladay is almost like a Danario Alexander clone, but has a far better track record with health. I am looking forward to seeing how he tests this off-season as i question if he is as athletic as Alexander (reportedly in private workouts posted 4.45 and 4.5 40 times as well as a 41 inch vertical). Golladay could be more of a 4.55 guy and 36 inch vertical.

Any idea if that was hand timed?

Yea it was handed time. So with 3 more weeks left before the Combine hopefully he will be successful with the laser timing they use.

RE: Training for the Combine
Combine times always seem a little slower than Pro days, and other hand-timed events. So we'll see. Seems like 4.5 would still be pretty fast for somebody his size though.

RE: Training for the Combine
General rule of thumb with hand timing is to round up to the nearest tenth and then to add .24

So that would make it 4.74.

Hand times are pretty worthless to be honest.

You guys sound like such experts on hand timing. Lol. Combine and Pro Day is right around the corner. Turn on a highlight of his...... It doesn't take a genius to figure out that he has break away speed and can jump. Remember all those stats came in spite of subpar Quarterback play. He's as fast or faster than Da'Ron Brown was.

I hope he kills it at the combine, pro day and his private workouts...but yeah, laser timed is a lot different than having it hand timed by your trainer

He's not faster than Da'Ron Brown if he's only running a 4.44 hand time.

I actually coached track at the high school level. I'm very familiar with the IHSA rule book and converting hand times to Fully Automated Timing (FAT).

Kudos to you for catching onto my expertise.

RE: Training for the Combine
Sub 4.5 would be a big deal for Kenny. I have my doubts and still see him as a 4.55 guy. 4.49 is harder than you think. Only 10 WRs went sub 4.5 at last years combine. If anyone's thinking a 4.4 is where he's at, I think you may be disappointed come combine time. I'd love to be wrong.

Any update on his elbow? Is he 100% now and will be a full participant at combine?
