Nothing personal, but I'd say you don't know any of that info with any certainty. Most of us don't.
Instead of biiiiitching about that after every loss, how about dealing with what we have and what's going on with the team. There are tons of positives and even more going forward to next year.

Nobody knows, but you can't deny Tubby being on vacation and playing golf is certainly great fodder for Saloogi and Hoop.

Even if not fodder, it wasn't a great look.

Agreed.

What about SMU? They're a good team, more experienced, better size etc.
Split hairs and argue all you want, or all anybody wants actually, we are a team starting 1 freshman, 2 sophomores and 2 juniors with only Crawford and Dedric having any experience at this level. The bench is made up of a freshman and a sophomore who hardly played last year. We are limited to say the least in terms of size as well.
Blame whoever you want for that.
This team is better than expected, IMO, and most figured we'd win some games we weren't supposed to and we'd lose some games we shouldn't. It's just how it is. We've got what appears to be a solid recruiting class started for next year and I'd expect that to continue.
We'd all like to win every game but this team, as we all knew, wouldn't do that. Reality says we are a good team that's inexperienced and lacking size and depth. With that in mind, we are still better than most should have realistically expected.
Everyone should relax.
These guys have to get their shots in, low hanging fruit and all.

Maybe you guys need ritalin. You crazy mofo's are all over the place talking about stuff that isn't mentioned.

450 made a direct statement about not having "an effing bench."

Now, I take that to me that the overall w/l production of this team is reduced by not having "an effing bench."

And I would be ok with that if some of our peer conference mates weren't doing very well without benches. And then also that we're whining about lack of depth when the HC didn't do more to get some depth.

Just imagine if the staff actually did a little work and got a couple of able bodied guys to contribute?

If the complaint that the bench is the only thing keeping Memphis from being, say 21-5 instead of 18-8, why wouldn't fans be pissed that the incoming staff didn't do more to be ready for THIS season?

Or are we still towing toeing the line that this is a miraculous job of coaching?

Minor point...I think it's toeing the line.

Yep.

Hard to say that with a straight face.

Lost twice to a 14-12 team.

Lost to 15-11 Providence.

Lost to 15-10 Ole Miss.

RPI and SOS outside the top 100.

18-8 record is a lot of smoke and mirrors at this point.

They've done some good things.

But a miracle? Pffffttttttt.

Let's be honest here....I don't recall anybody saying that it has been a miracle job. The only time I recall miracle being mentioned is when you said it will take a miracle for us to make the tourney.

There is some hyperbole in the statement but there are quite a few that this expectations are being exceeded.

As for miracles, need to hit up the Trophy Room on cougar night.

Tubby has one guy who can play on Both sides of the floor and most of the "offensive" players are 1 dimensional. So yeah as the season wears on it easier to stop us.

Depth is an issue yes but the bigger issue is we have a team with glaring holes and some teams are able to exploit them

Fair enough.

He had 5-6 months to fix some of the issues and really didn't.

Other issues he couldn't have fixed in that timeframe.

Next year will tell the full story on Tubby and his staff.

He will return a solid DI core and by August of next year, will have had a full 1.5 years on the job.

I'm sure a smart guy like yourself understands the term "figure of speech."

Agree he gets a pass this year, but now he should know exactly what weaknesses that his squad has and if he doesn't address them he should start to feel the heat

He needs a pg who can use both hands a shooter and a post defender

Yep.

They've already admitted the non conference will likely be similar to this year - i.e. bad - and the American will do what it does...some teams are better, some are worse and 1-2 stick out.

Should be zero excuses for not being an at-large candidate...at the very least.
