The filibuster is too easy.

It needs to return to the original procedure or there needs to be a cost or there needs to be some limitation. In other words, it should be used in only the most important situations.

You know it! It's been used against progressives far more than conservatives. I'm thinking long game. Have at it!

That's mostely because Harry Reid did such a piss poor jub of running the senate. Before he took over in 2006 each party tended to use the filibuster about 70-80 times per two years in the minority until Reid took over in 2006.

Reid made it impossible as the Majority party.

You guys have been able to stop too many progressive ideas with the filibuster. You're cocky now because we need 54.5% of the national vote to take the house. That won't always be the case.

I want executive power diminished, I want federal power diminished, I want as much power put into local governments as possible. Because we can't know who is going to be president in 4-8-12 years.

We live in a universe where Donald F'ing Trump is the president. That reason *ALONE* should make most of us small government at the federal level.

But to you Mach, the answer for bad government is always "more bad government"...
