Griz Vs Golden St (Part III)
The Griz took it on the chin yesterday, but I think the media is exaggerating the degree of dominance by the Warriors (the Griz cut into the lead) and the unusual reasons for the win (like Green's double double the hard way and Thompson's other worldly [even for him] shooting, and Griz high turnovers).
GS will be favored in any playoff series, but the Griz have the type of game to give them trouble as evident by the Griz two-to-one game advantage this season.
I was surprised by the audible cheers for GS at FedEx Forum. I do not live in Memphis and I seek input. Are there west coast folks moving to Memphis?

the Warrior fans were mostly jonny come lately fans from a 6 hour drive, especially st louis, nashville, birmingham, little rock, aka cities without nba teams.
there were some NoCal transplants from a similar area and some weak minded locals too.

Depending on the number in attendance, I guess some of them buy their tickets from Griz season ticket holders like Titan fans do when the Steelers visit Nashville. Nissan Stadium sounds like South Pittsburg on game day.
The good news is they spend their money and go home and next time they may go home disappointed.

There is some of that, as well as some of what Ned said. It still sucks though. At least the boos got louder vs. their cheers. Of course you would have heard Grizz cheering if they were ever in the game, which they weren't.
There will always be teams in every sport who may be louder at an away venue - Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox, Red Wings, Packers and Steelers come to mind.

True, the Red Wings - after all this time - still draw strong at Bridgestone.

Steph is a legitimate superstar in the same vein that Kobe, LeBron, Durant have been recently. There will always be little kids cheering for them at away games, not to mention anyone who is currently a Warriors fan because of their success.
Draymond's triple double is the first in NBA history without points getting to ten.

The Predators are a slightly different story since such a large portion of their fanbase are Nashville-area transplants from the rust belt, a lot of which work in the auto industry. So Detroit fandom will run a little strong there.

Some truth to both of your above posts.
However, regardless of the auto industry transplants in Middle TN, the Detroit Red Wings have a similar following in the NHL as do the Packers and Steelers in the NFL.
I lived in Carolina for a few years and went to two games where the Red Wings played the Hurricanes. All night long, it was "Let's Go Red Wings"
They simply have a following in opposing arenas outside of Chicago, NY, Boston, Philly and the Canadian cities. It is what it is.
