Flight attendant 'saved girl from human trafficking
Quote:Shelia Frederick said she was working on an Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle to San Francisco when she noticed the “dishevelled” girl travelling with a “well-dressed” man.
Ms Frederick became suspicious when the girl wouldn't look at her or respond to questions, and the man she was flying with answered everything.
The 49-year-old told 10 News: "Something in the back of my mind said something is not right.
"He was well dressed, that's what kind of got me because why is he well dressed and she is looking dishevelled and out of sorts?”
Concerned for the girl's welfare, Ms Frederick left a note for her on the mirror of the plane’s toilet.
In response, the girl apparently wrote: “I need help."

That happened six years ago. It's curious that the news shows up now without an explanation of why they are running a story about something that happened so long ago.

I don't intend to diminish her heroism. It just seemed curious, and is probably a failure to translate a local TV news story to a different format...

edit: here is the original story, which seems more like a general story about human trafficking: Flight attendant's instinct stops case of human smuggling | WTSP.com

What a dumb comment. No one was "profiled" here. She saw a couple of red flags specifically how the victim would look to the perp as if she needed permission to speak to the flight attendant.

Saw that story. That flight attendant saw a situation that didn't seem right and instead of ignoring it took the steps to see if there was something wrong. She is definitely a hero.

Of course the lady profiled in this matter. 100% she profiled the older man and young girl. Flight attendants get training and use profiling tactics.

Yep, this situation is the very definition of profiling.
