As The Trade Deadline Approaches ...
Are there any moves you would like to see the Grizzlies make? Let's try to be realistic here, we aren't messing with the core and we don't have the assets to land a player that would "wow" the common fan. So, any deal we make likely won't move the needle much, but I think we can improve.

I think we stand pat. Getting wright back kinda serves as a trade deadline pick up imo. IF parsons can start contributing more that will be a big lift as well. Been pleasantly surprised by wrights contributions so far. I'd kick the tires on chalmers again but I think we have a good mix right now. Finally have some young talent being given a chance.
I think our bed is made for this season. I'll ride with this team.

RE: As The Trade Deadline Approaches ...
The roster is an interesting mix of veterans and youth - the development has been okay overall.
Like to see the team completely healthy and the players getting max minutes before jumping to make any trade.
But, on the other hand, if you get a fair offer for both sides, you have to consider it.
Especially if it involves an expiring contract on our side.
However...I would like to see the core 4 get one last shot...assuming Parsons and Wright and others get 100% and stay there...I mean, if Parsons has to shut it down and Ennis rolls an ankle and Troy Daniels slumps, etc...then it likely doesn't matter.
I just think if they can ever get this roster completely healthy and in condition and playing together, it really could surprise come playoff time.
I like the mix and I like the team.

Backup Pg is the only glaring need. I dont know who is available or if we have the assets to get a deal done without giving up too much though. We are probably just going to have to role with Harrison and Douglas

Toney Douglass I suspect they will sign until the end of the season. A veteran and much more capable than Harrison there. I suppose you could sign Chalmers if he ever gets healthy but I know Lebron is trying to get Cleveland to grab him as well.
I too would stand pat. Parsons is slowly getting worked in more and more. I think he can be a big help although the need for a 3-pt shooter isn't as great as it once was.

If they can't find a trade that makes sens to address the backup PG, I expect Douglas to be signed for the remainder of the season after his new 10-day expires. IMO, I think he's a good fit and expect us to likely end up with him as the backup.
I still think the Grizz need a wing to create some offense off the bench. Outside of Z-Bo, we don't have anyone who can "get a bucket". Daniels and Ennis are setup guys. Vince has flashes, but he's just not able to do it like he used to.
One guy I'd look at is Lou Williams for LAL. The Lakers need to tank (a lot at stake for them) and they may be looking to dump a guy like Lou for future assets. Lou has proven to be effective coming off the bench - can score and create off the dribble - and has a really reasonable contract.

Lakers are only 6.5 games out of the playoffs which is sad in itself. Why would they dump him? They do a pretty good job of losing with him there.

I like the idea of trading Vince Carter to the Nuggets for Will Barton, if the Nuggets would be willing to part.
Denver acquires an expiring contract and the Grizzlies get Barton for another 1.5 years, plus Tony Allen's eventual replacement in the starting line-up if things pan out. Barton has developed quite well over the last couple of years and I think he would be good fit with the Grizzlies current make-up. Gives them an athletic wing with a balanced game (averaging 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal per game over last 2 years while shooting around 45% from the field).

How many teams have a great back up point guard? And if so why would they want to trade them ?

We don't need a great one, we just need one who is better than Andrew Harrison.

Not setting the world on fire, but he is playing better (and the team plays better with him) than Harrison
