I'm actually against my political ideology on this, limited legal immigration is needed, the only people we should be bringing in should be for skilled positions that require a company to sponsor the immigration and be responsible for that immigrant's relocation if he/she doesn't stay at the job during the process of obtaining citizenship. We have no need for unskilled laborers as there are plenty on unemployment that could be filling those jobs instead.

Everyone should be against illegal immigration. If you aren't, you're part of the problem. Legal immigration should serve a purpose. What purpose to artificially imposed quotas or lottery visas serve?

Shameful...this country was built on slavery...why the change of heart? Sometimes the old way isn't the best way. Being intelligent on who comes into this country isn't an abject rejection of what built this country, but rather an evolution of what makes it an appealing country to move to. Keep in mind, this is the same way cartmanland became the hottest theme park, so I'm ok with it.

We let in around 1 Million immigrant green card holders annually. We have maybe 20 million illegals here. We have well over 40 Million foreign born legal residents. It probably makes sense to scale this back some.
