It's possible that it is, but I'd also say that this is exactly the kind of stuff the media has been doing for god knows how long and ignorant dolts lap it up as all factual.

Well, if you came on here and raised cain about the media not telling the truth, your outrage against Trump would at least be fair, and I'd listen way more. the worse was the Mark Kirk comment where a con on here said it was being taken out of context. his democratic opponent said something. he responded with said comment. what followed was an awkward 30 second silence and the moderator decided to move on to the next question.
the was literally no context to his comment. yet that didn't stop the cons on here from complaining we were taking it out of context.

I dont need to show you anything. You just showed me that the news articles used a rate that Trump didnt mention. If you want to prove him a liar, you have to show that the murder rate is not at a 47 year high. It may or may not be, but the articles you quoted doesnt disprove what he said, they just show that using a metric of per 100,000 people, its not. But he didnt say per 100,000 people.
In short, the number in the article isnt a rate, its a rate PER 100,000. Its a way to manipulate the data in order to normalize it against population. But its a manipulation of the true rate.
If a city of 100,000 people had 50 murders, and then the next year the murders went up to 60 with a population of 125,000, you are basically saying that the murder rate went down. It did not. The murder rate (murders per year) went up.
