I remember it somewhat like this, we were in the top 3 just about every year in the CAA and sometimes 1st or second and pretty much always in contention to in the CAA Tournament. Now we are tied with our old nemesis UAB for 3rd place. I don't thing much has changed. Stith has not been healthy for almost 3 weeks and then there was the Talley thing earlier when we needed him. I like the recruits coming in and the one redshirted.

Theres no doubt that drunk Blaine's recruiting was pretty bad, but sober Blaine was freakin awesome. Even if he didnt recruit a star, he turned them into one.

I think his recruiting died off before his drinking issue. He thought he was going to get the Clemson job after we beat Notre Dame and just stopped recruiting after he lost Dorian Finney-Smith to Tech. Jason Pimentel, Anton Larsen, Nick Wright, Marquel DeLancey, etc. were not CAA quality players.

And yet, many of the people now defending jones were defending those recruits back then as well. Interesting how that worked out.

The level of play seen in those videos and where we are at now is staggering. Loughton pump faking and taking two steps in from beyond the arc and hitting a 20 foot j is incredible.

We havent seen anyone be able to do that since Gerald lee. The difference between stith and porter (and Vasser and Taylor) and lee and loughton is astronomical.

Btw that was still hands down the best sporting event I've ever been too in my life, followed closely by beating vcu again with baze and company.

But the atmosphere for that game was insane, something we will NEVER have again in cusa.
