52-47. More extreme partisanship by Democrats. Only Manchin voted for him.

Manchin, whom I do not really care for , is moving over to the side of the Good Guys. Slowly but surely!

This is an avalanche of winning!

Not a surprise. There will be a few Cabinet members who will get in the 60's and 70's for their confirmation totals (maybe Ben Carson? David Shulkin will be another who probably sails through). Most of the other ones will be along party lines - I suspect DeVos is the only Cabinet member who any Republicans will vote nay on unless someone just feels super strong against Rick Perry and Steven Mnuchin.

The list of 6 candidates who are likely to replace Sessions. Maybe someone from Alabama can express their opinions on the list.

Luther Strange appears to be the front runner. It is a complicated situation because of the ethics complaints against Governor Bentley.

Not complicated. He is governor until he is not the governor.

It will probably be Luther Strange.

I'm personally rooting for Roy Moore just for the lulz

Complicated in that sending Strange away could be construed as a get out of jail card for Bentley. Then again, Bentley hasn't seemed much concerned about appearances or public opinion.

So all the Democrats did was waste time with their hysterical and infantile antics. All the nominees will get approved and not one will likely get a half dozen Dem votes. This is partisanship on steroids. Playing to their base is a money raising opportunity.

Conspicuous team over country.

I don't remember any of Obamas getting near unanimous Republican opposition. I don't remember any getting substantial Republican opposition.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmati...'s_Cabinet

Only Hagel for defense, Lynch as 2nd AG, Perez in Labor and King as the last Education Secretary had in the 40s in opposition, several of those with Republican majorities in the Senate. About 5 got 70+ votes. Timothy Geithner was approved 60-34.

The rest were almost all unanimous or with only 2 or 3 opposition votes.

A lot of them were by voice vote in 2009. Schumer and his merry band of clowns tripped the light craptastic on this. They look like petty, spoiled brats.

Correct. He has no principles. He'll just move with the power all career. WV was probably Trump's best state. I expect Manchin will be crossing over often.
