RE: New Scoreboard and Sound System
I just hope the Ribbon boards do something other than display ads.. the ribbon on the new pressbox NEVER shows a score or stats during UC football, during FCC games it does though..

Also having known more than a few Marching Band members at UC and OSU, as previously mentioned, Frenz was worried more about having a full sized band than getting rid of the fillers, so 1/3rd or even up to 1/2 of the band should not be out on that field without improvement or more effort. I'd cheer for a real quality 180-200 piece band over a band of anyones who show up to get to 240 or 250. There have been plenty of musicians involved who could have been/were in CCM for performance, but would rather have gone to Engineering etc, and the band is an outlet to keep up on the music.

Having said that.. gimme a Director who plays stand tunes on the field, and not Band Show tunes all day.

RE: New Scoreboard and Sound System
The Bizjournal article is about as clear and thorough as a Trump
executive order. FCC is helping UC move forward, but doesnt explain how. Though it does
say UC needs to raise the money. The article also says FCC is partnering with the field renovation, which is a weird way of describing something UC will pay for in whole even though their own soccer team may never use the field.

I want to know what - if anything - FCC is directly contributing. My guess is zero. I hope I stand corrected.

AD specifically said our partnership with FCC has allowed us to speed up the process for getting the scoreboard and video screen going... According to the AD the partnership is paying off with helping fund measures for the Athletic Department. The same people respond with "yea but he's not giving me line item detail of who is paying what, and how the partnership is helping fund the measure... really he's probably lying and it's all just extra cost to UC."

RE: New Scoreboard and Sound System
Anyone have any thoughts or comparisons as to what a $4-6M scoreboard and sound system would look like? IIRC, the Bengals new scoreboard cost the taxpayers $7.5M. I was looking to see the cost of some new CFB scoreboards and noticed that a few schools have paid >$10M (Utah is paying $13.5M for theirs).

Bengals 7.5 million for one or both?

I'd imagine it's closer to 3 million for the scoreboard and 1 million for the rest of the ribbonboards/sound system.

Thank God!!! Our old one is embarrassingly bad.

Sitting in Shank is a strange blend of bleeding from the ears due to volumes normally reserved for convincing South American dictators to surrender and leave their compound and not being able to understand a word due to the fact that the 120 dBs are an indecipherable garbled mess.

This! Was god awful from our old seats there.

Four pages and no sarcastic mention of "Little Prince Lindner" and his revered benevolence towards UC?

Did I miss Doss getting banned?

Don't be surprised if the ribbon boards aren't at the bottom of the scoreboard. This is the quote: " The new scoreboard system will likely include a high-definition scoreboard, sound system and ribbon boards."

Except, the removal of the old, sound system and ribbon boards put the total cost at $13.5M. 03-phew

As long as they don't lose the "Welcome to the University of Cincinnati" at the top, I'm down.

I was upstairs in Lindner today for a meeting looking down into Nippert. Man, that project is a bigger undertaking than I thought it would be. Looking forward to the new board.

No it's not. They are barely changing anything.

same thing Bengals did, to PBS, will make a huge difference

Let him go, he has been bitching about Nippert changes for the past couple of year at least. We tend to just ignore it nowadays.

Considering we learned about the changes in mid August 2015 -
and even then we weren't clear - and I'm not psychic, your statement is false. But thanks for the exaggeration. Illusions of grandeur and abandonment of facts are a big part of soccer euphoria. Also, this wasn't bitching. I was mocking you.
