I think he is missing the point. They are trying to create 1984 in today's America. They are learning how to have thought police.

I understand the rules but Sessions is up for nomination and in that moment is not a Senator. Otherwise, not a negative think could have been said about him during the entire meeting. Why now? They didn't silence her when she read Kennedy's negative remarks. Only when CSK's letter was written.

Well I agree there should be more leeway on a nomination, but the point is not that she was criticizing him. It was that she was impugning his integrity and fitness to even be a Senator.

It would be one thing if they said he was insensitive to the needs of minorities. But the letter went way beyond that. It was a personal attack.

Censorship on tv (FCC), though I know what you meant to ask, I was referring to colleges and their speech codes they enforce, which can restrict debate and disagreement.
